(Proposed exhibition: the five videos are shown simultaneously on separate screens in a
single dark room).

The monotonous tone describes the every day mundane activity of eating.
The malls are the backdrop for the banal shopping and coffee shop culture., juxtaposed to
my year's concept of food obsession, where every activity is absorbed by thoughts of food.

Video
2011

A self-exploration of body image, diet and food obsession:
The judgements and efforts of millions of people, who have ever struggled with their weight, are echoed
through a monologue of confusion, self-hatred, pleasure and acceptance.
I particularly enjoy how my unreserved revelations in this video create a variety of reactions from the
viewers: ranging from disgust, disbelieve and nausea to enjoyment, laughter, empathy and camaraderie.
Insatiable
Stop-frame animation
2011

A series of chalk sketches on black board.
The narrative is inspired by Greek mythology: King Erysichthon of Thessaly  cut down trees in a grove, sacred to
Demeter;  killing a dryad nymph. Demeter punished him by placing Limos, unrelenting and insatiable hunger,
in his stomach. He sold all his possessions, including his daughter, Mestra, to buy food, but was still hungry.
Mestra was freed from slavery by Poseidon, who gave her the gift of shape-shifting to escape her bonds.
Erysichthon sold her numerous times to make money to feed himself. Eventually, Erysichthon ate himself in
hunger.
